LIVING CONDITION - The mother lost her livelihood through the tribal clashes in 1991 and since then life has been hard on them having to go to bed on empty stomachs for most of the days. They live in a rented house and the mother is not able to raise the 4 dollars for house rent until the landlord gave over following her up. Margaret lacks basic necessities including clothes and even with the free primary education, she dropped out of school because she could not learn on an empty stomach or without school uniforms. She’s in need of care and protection from this situation.

STATE OF MOTHER - financially handicapped to provide for the large family
SIBLINGS - 2 brothers and 3 sisters
LIVING CONDITION - After the death of the father, the family was left financially handicapped because the father was the breadwinner. The family is threatened with eviction from the rented house where they live because the mother has not paid house rent for the last twelve months. Due to hunger, the children have been reported to suffer from fainting often. The relatives to the family have shown a lot of hatred towards the family.  Despite her circumstances, Gladys was position 5 in grade 1 from a total of 108 pupils. She has great potential to do better if her current situations are improved.

STATE OF MOTHER - died of Aids in 2007
SIBLINGS - 3 brothers and 1 sister
LIVING CONDITION - Amos mother was a single parent of 5 kids and after her death her ailing mother was left to take care of the children. Since his old and sick grandmother is not able to work, she depends on an older grandson to work in people farms and bring food on the table for the family a situation that has seen the family go without food for many days. Well-wishers have fed the kids whenever they have been out in the streets crying and begging for food. He is in need of a home, clothes and food. Despite his circumstances, Amos is a bright pupil and is in grade 3 and was position 7 from a class of 112 pupils.

STATE OF MOTHER - poor and lacks means to support her family

LIVING CONDITION - On the father’s suicide note, he revealed that he ended his life because he had too much debt which he could never be able to repay. Ruth’s mother works as a casual labor in people farms to support her family, a job that is not always available especially in this time of drought. He other relatives are her grandparents who are old and not in a position to work and support themselves and are also dependents.

Currently living with uncle who is a married farmer with a family of 5 children. No father, Cause of mothers death (HIV). Family - Loise Wagaki are two with one brother. Brother aged 14 yrs he is in std 7
Uncle is strained in up keeping with his children in secondary school. He is willing and hopes a sponsor will come in to help her proceed with schooling.

Birth - 1/5/93. Next year 2010 to start std 8. Performance – Amongst the best 20. Aspires to take University Nursing courses.

David Njuguna Kabiru
Birth – 13/9/1995 Both parents dead; mother of sickness, father from road accident. Performance is always amongst the top ten in AC Ol’Kalou Primary school.
Aspirations- Target secondary school or Nyeri High school. Target KCSE grade high enough to allow entry for a course to University. Target courses – Engineering courses.
Guardian – Grandmother who is a single woman who works as a Farmer. David Njuguna comes from a family of three with two brother and one sister. Sister currently in form three at Kiganjo secondary school and his brother finished form four 2009. Grandmother is currently strained in upkeep for the three children and fees payment for older brother and sister. She is very willing and hoping a sponsor will be found to help her educate David who is a bright and promising boy.

Born in 1994. Her parents died and is now living with her sister who is not employed. She has not joined any school. She appears mentally handicapped. She needs to join a special school.

Born February 7th 2004 in Nakuru, Kenya. There are three children in the family. He lives with his grandmother since his mother is jobless and not married. He is in grade one at Bavuni elementary school. His ambition is to become a Teacher and his best subjects are English, Social studies and Mathematics. He plays football.

Born on 28 Feb 1995. Her mother died in 1999 and left her under the care of her sister. The sister is a peasant laborer. They are six in her family. She is in grade six of elementary school at Limuko School. Her best subject is Christian religious education and her best sports are football.

Born March 14th 1993 Kenya in. There are seven children in the family. She is an orphan who lives with her grandmother who is jobless and very old. She joined the high school in grade nine and was attracted by its good academic performance. Her ambition is to become a Nurse and her best subjects are Chemistry and Biology. She plays football.

She joined the Goshen High school in Form one (grade nine) and was attracted by its good academic performance. Her ambition is to become a Doctor and her best subjects are Chemistry and Biology. She plays netball, hockey, volleyball and loves swimming.
