Mission Trip to Kenya August 2010

We are always looking for volunteers to come on missions to distribute goods and help with our projects. If you're looking to volunteer with a hard-working, accountable, worthwhile group, you've come to the right place.
15 DAYS August 2-17, 2010
Day 1 - August 2 USA to Nairobi, Kenya - NBO
Day 2 - August 3 Arrive in Nairobi in the evening.
Day 3 - August 4
- Breakfast
- Tour Nairobi National Park within the city limits of Nairobi. Will have a chance to see African lions, leopards and an elevated walk to watch the animals in their natural ecosystem.
- Lunch in Nairobi and leave for Naivasha, through the Great Rift Valley.
- Stop over in Kiambu-Kinale to meet the children and reps in that region.
- Evening tour of Lake Naivasha, Rift Valley
- Stay the night in Naivasha.
Day 4 - August 5
- Breakfast in our residence.
- Start our journey to Nakuru at Goshen Academy for their 10th anniversary celebrations and join Dr. Karanja’s group from Mary land for a Youth leadership meeting.
- Meet with the orphans at Goshen Academy for anniversary/fellowship/sports.
- Spend the night in Nakuru in Rift Valley.
Day 5 - August 6
- Goshen Anniversary
- Meet children in Wanyororo Kabatini area
- Visit Kiratina children's home in Nakuru
- Shopping in Nakuru for famous African artistic carvings, African bags, clothings etc.
- Spend in Nakuru
Day 6 - August 7
- Breakfast at Residence.
- Tour of Lake Baringo national park and lake Bogoria.
- Shopping in Nakuru for children
- Back to Nakuru.
Day 7 - August 8
- Church service at Nyahururu in the morning.
- In the afternoon, tour the famous Thomson Falls and a Kiamaina Village local dwelling slum area.
- Spend the night in Nyahururu.
Day 8 - August 9
- Visit children in Nyahururu
- In the afternoon meet our rep and children in Subukia. Give gifts to the children and interact with them.
- Meet up with Goshen Group
- Spend the night in Nyahururu.
Day 9 - August 10
- 1ST ANNUAL PFA LEADERSHIP SEMINAR in Nyahururu. Invited Local leaders, community and religious leaders will be trained on important leadership, religious, health, developmental and peaceful co-existence issues. Dr Karanja’s (Maryland) group will join us and Mr Kageche’s group (California).
- Lunch.
- Shopping in Nyahururu
- Spend the night in Nyahururu
Day 10 - August 11
- Head for Dundori (a beatiful tropical vegetation highland area overlooking the Great Rift Valley)
- Meet our rep and the children in Dundori and local leaders.
- Have a time to visit Mr Paul’s farm (Elijah’s father) where the local women will prepare a good African traditional dish for lunch!!!
- Spend in Nyahururu.
Day 11 - August 12
- Breakfast at Residence.
- Meet our rep and children in Olkalou and Captain area and our rep.Have a moment to interact with them and give them some gifts.
- Meet children from Oljorolok area and have sometime with them.
- Leave for Nanyuki (Mt. Kenya) Second longest mountain in Africa
- Night in Nanyuki
Day 12 - August 13
- Breakfast at Residence.
- Tour of the famous Ol, Pejeta Conservancy to see the African ‘BIG 5’. We shall have a chance to see the wisest chimpanzees in the world!!!
- Have lunch.
- A tour of Mt. Kenya area, visit the children, interact with them and give them some gifts.
- Evening free
- Spend the night in Nanyuki.
Day 13 - August 14
- Meet children in Bahati
- Visit Monicah's father's home for African dinner and interact with local African people
- Back to Nakuru.
Day 14 - August 15
- Sunday service either Nakuru/Njoro/Subukia.
- Lake Nakuru National Park - World famous lake with millions of flamingos
- Spend in Nakuru.
Day 15 - August 16
- Start our journey back to Nairobi.
- In the afternoon in Nairobi tour either the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi, a local attraction of traditional homes of various tribes of Kenya and traditional dances or Blien Museum in Nairobi
- Have dinner and get ready to check out for flight back to USA
Day 16 - August 17

- Going with us.
- Giving financial help to buy gifts for the children.
- Giving financial help to organize for the Leadership Seminar.
- Giving financial help to start sponsoring a child.
- Giving financial help for general needs of the mission trip.
